1Genetic Test for Disease Susceptibility
Disease susceptibility test refers to the tendency of having a certain kind of disease determined by gene. Individuals with high disease susceptibility means that they carry susceptibility genes of a certain kind of disease. By collecting the genetic materials in the cells to have sequencing test or genetic typing test, we can detect the pathogenic genes or susceptibility genes to evaluate the risk of having this kind of disease.

The Clinical significance of CTC detection is mainly reflected in the early diagnosis. It can provide more accurate and early diagnosis than PET, MRI,ctDNA can provide. Besides, CTC detection is good for making the prognostic judgement and can offer guidance for therapeutic schemes by making prognostic judgement and estimating the survival time according to the number of the CTCs before and after the treatment. It can also apply to the detections of tumor recurrence and drug resistance, effectiveness evaluations of chemotherapy drugs. Whole exome sequencing is based on the second-generation gene sequencing technology which can detect 27000 human encoding genes. For the purpose of predicting the clinical effect of targeted anti-tumor drugs, we can screen the targeted drugs tailored to cancer patients’ genotype in a more effective, comprehensive approach and assist the doctor to choose the treatment with maximum curative effect and minimum side effect by conducting bioinformatic analysis and explanation, combing the clinical information of patients and the best existing clinical evidence.

Personalized Circulating tumor DNA
ctDNA is tumor-derived fragmented DNA in the bloodstream that is not associated with cells. ctDNA may reflect the entire tumor genome. By performing the expansions and detections of CtDNA and combining with the whole exome sequencing results, we can screen a group of gene mutations highly associated with tumor from a large number of DNAS and integrate them with drug susceptibility and mutation of drug-resistance gene to provide the patients with the monitoring for mutation of drug-resistance gene and the monitoring for tumor activity.

3Drug sensitivity test based on the patient-derived tumor organoids technology
Among all the anti-tumor drugs, up to 40% are non-targeted chemotherapeutics drugs, of which the effective rate is just 30%. So far, there is no effective drug sensitivity test for the individual therapy that aims at non-targeted drugs. Even for the targeted drugs, the gene sequencing test can’t predict the susceptibilities accurately.

A tumor organoid is the microtumor model cultured in vitro using the isolated tumor cells from tumor tissues or tumor cells in the blood circulation. The tumor organoids deriving from the patients’ tumors can reflect the real situations of the tumors, which is the most direct and effective method for testing drug sensitivity (sensitivity is 100%, specificity is 93%). Drug sensitivity test based on the tumor organoids technology can apply to both the targeted and non-targeted anti-tumor drugs which compensates the deficiency that the gene sequencing test only predict the drug sensitivity of targeted drugs.

Most of the patients aren’t fit for surgeries or biopsies, so the tumor specimens can’t be collected. It is difficult to analyze the features of the tumors to provide appropriate clinical treatments. The drug sensitivity test provided by Five Elements is not only for surgical patients but also for the non-surgical patients. For surgical patients, using the tumor tissues from surgeries to implement digestions to obtain tumor cells with which to conduct 3D cultures and expansions in vitro to establish a microtumor model. For non-surgical patients or patients, collect 5-10ml blood sample from vein, then isolate the tumor cells from blood so as to conduct 3D cultures and expansions in vitro to establish a microtumor model.

Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strand of DNA that protect our chromosomes. Our cells replenish by copying themselves. This happens constantly throughout our lives. Telomeres get shorter each time a cell copies itself. Eventually, telomeres get too short to do their job, causing our cells to age and stop functioning properly. Therefore, telomeres act as the aging clock in every cell.
In 2009, the Nobel Prize for Medicine was awarded to three American scientists who discovered how an enzyme called telomerase impacts telomere length, which uncovers the mystery of aging and cancers or age-related diseases.
Through measuring the average length and lengths distribution of the telomeres in chromosomes, we can measure the senescence of body. Having constant monitoring of the telomeres lengths, observations of the shortening speed of their average length, investigations of the percentage of short telomeres can reflect the aging speed of body. Telomere is a vital biomarker for evaluating health conditions.
Telomeres length and other telomere associated variables are known to be promising biomarkers in diagnostics and prognosis of cancers like protastic cancer, lung cancer.
